Because, Lashes Matter
Can we talk about why Classic lashes are an "every day lash"? Lashes that just add a little length and volume and are very natural. Great for adding a touch of WOW to your every day makeup routine. Classics are great for a coffee date or the office and not necessarily super heavy or VAVAVOOM looking. Great for the girl who want to get up and go with a hint of POP!!!
Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive at your lash appointment:
Q: Can I wear makeup to my lash appointment?
A: It’s required that your eye area be clean and completely free of makeup. You can wear moisturizer and foundation but no under eye concealer, mascara, etc. Your lash artist will require you to remove any makeup around your eye area before the start of your appointment. Come prepared with a clean face so your artist has the most time possible to spend on your lashes.
Q: I can’t leave my house without mascara, I really can’t wear any?
A: Correct! Now, we know that you’re busy and so if you’re coming from work or running errands, please arrive to your appointment early to clean your lashes onsite so when your lash artist is ready to start your lashes, you’re ready to go!
Q: What should I wear to my lash appointment?
A: Comfortable clothes! You’ll likely be sitting or laying down for between 2-3 hours depending on the length of your appointment.
Q: How long are eyelash extension appointments?
A: You’re very first lash appointment will be a full set of lashes (aka a fresh set) and will take around 2 ½ to 3 hours to complete. If you’re going to get your lashes filled or for a fill (aka adding more lashes to an existing lash set) it will take between 60 minutes to 2 hours, depending on look and lash artist speed.
Q: Should I curl my natural lashes before my lash appointment?
A: Nope! Lash artists prefer to work with your natural lashes in their most natural state! Your natural, straight lashes are better for the adhesive to bond and hold the lash extension.
Q: Should I bring my headphones?
A: Absolutely! If you’re planning to listen to music during your appointment then you’ll need to provide your own headphones and music listening device. Have a few playlists lined up as you won’t be able to open your eyes during the appointment. We suggest more soothing music, your lash artist won’t want your head bobbing along...
Q: Should I bring my phone with me?
A: Yes, bring your phone but make sure and silence all text or phone call notifications. It’s just a distraction for you and your lash artist!
Q: What happens if I fall asleep? Is that okay?
A: Absolutely! Some lash artists prefer when their clients fall asleep. Don’t worry about falling asleep, your lash artist wants you to be as comfortable as possible during your appointment! (Lash naps are the best naps… ;) )
Q: Can I wear my contacts?
A: We suggest removing your contacts when you arrive at your appointment just to ensure as little irritation during your appointment as possible.
Q: Should I wash my lashes?
A: YES! Washing your lashes once per day with a lash-safe cleanser will not only extend the life of your lashes but will keep them clean and looking fresh each day! It will also help prevent any irritations and bacteria!
Be considerately on time and note that if you're late then you are only cutting into your own time and will only be worked on for the remainder of the scheduled appointment and will be charged the same rate. Your late arrival may limit our ability to offer the fullest possible experience.
Unfortunately, I do not perform refill services on work that was not done at Barely There Beauty Bar. If you currently have lash extensions on, you must get them removed before receiving your first new set with me. This is to avoid the risk of mixing different adhesives and materials from work done in other salons.
No water contact, steam or saunas for the first 24 hours.
When showering, avoid letting water from your shower head run directly onto your lashes.
Avoid getting wet excessively, gently pat dry (don't let air dry)
Avoid hot steam (including facials)
Absolutely no mascara or eyelash curlers.
Use all oil-free products. No oily products on or around the eye area as oil can break down the bond of the adhesive.
Clean your lashes 4-5 times a week with Lash Bath so the dirt, dead skin cells and oil buildup don't accumulate.
Gently remove makeup with an oil free makeup remover or cleanser, especially prior to coming in for a fill.
Use lint free products to remove makeup around the eye.
Brush and groom your lashes every morning and after showers with a dry mascara wand to maintain growth.
Sleep on your back or on your side with lashes off the pillow, do not sleep on your face.
Do not pull or tug on the extensions, treat your lashes with love.
It is normal to lose 2-5 lashes a day, this is why I recommend scheduling a fill appointment every 2 weeks to maintain fullness
If you find an issue with your lash extensions within the first 3 days of your appointment and believe you have taken proper care of them, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will rectify the issue by having a look at your lashes and fixing them at no extra cost, if I see you have taken care of them. However, no refunds are given for services rendered.
